Pauly Knife

We made a butter knife for cream cheese. In particular, we considered the proportion between the blunt head and the handle to fit the container of ‘Pauly Cream Cheese.’ It allows the cream cheese to be scooped easily with little force, and the edge connected to the handle cleanly scrapes every corner of the container. Meanwhile, by directly carving and grinding the translucent acetate that forms the body, we explored sculptural curved surfaces that emphasize the material’s properties.
